directions for arrival on foot
On booking we will provide you with directions to get to your apartment, and we'll meet you at your apartment on the day to give you keys and help you with any queries. Below though are some directions you may find useful.
The Anne House Royal Mile apartments can be found on the section of the Royal Mile known as the 'High Street'. Find your way to the top of Cockburn Street, which you can see on the map above. To get your bearings, The Tron Kirk is situated at the junction of the High Street and North Bridge, just to the left of the top of Cockburn Street.
At the top of Cockburn Street, cross the Royal Mile/High Street and turn to your right - you should see Garfunkel's Restaurant there, and in the archway immediately before it and immediately after Starbucks you will see the entrance to both of the Anne House Royal Mile apartments.
The Anne House Tron Square apartment can be found nestled in behind the section of the Royal Mile known as the 'High Street'. Find your way to the top of Cockburn Street, which you can see on the map above. To get your bearings, The Tron Kirk is situated at the junction of the High Street and North Bridge, just to the left of the top of Cockburn Street.
The square behind the Tron Kirk is known as Hunter Square, and is not the square you're looking for - but even many locals don't realise this!
At the top of Cockburn Street, cross the Royal Mile/High Street and turn to your right - you should see Starbucks there, and keeping Starbucks on your left, continue past shops and restaurants until you see The Fringe Office - it's a bright blue painted shop front.
You'll see the 'Fringe Box Office' sign hanging over the entrance to Old Assembly Close (Number 172 High Street). This is where you turn off and proceed down Old Assembly Close past the Cowgate Children's Centre (on your left) and towards a turning into an open square, also on your left, which is Upper Tron Square.
Enter the Square and head left towards a small set of steps which descends to Bell's Wynd, where you will find the entrance to Anne House Apartments, where one of us will meet you as arranged.
